Youth rally kicks off

With clear weather forecast for the weekend, football fans should enjoy the action at the Cayman Islands Football Association Under-12 Rally at the T.E McField Sports Center on Saturday.

Seven club teams will compete in the round-robin tournament: Academy Sports Club, Sunset Football Club, Tigers FC, George Town SC, Cayman Athletic SC, Scholars International SC and Future SC.

“The CIFA Under-12 league is a critical league for the development of our youth football and is the transition from primary school football,” said association general secretary Paul Macey. “The rally provides an opportunity for the boys to showcase their talent. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the football and to show support for the future stars of Cayman football.”

Saturday’s rally, which comes after the successful C3 Cayman International Youth Football Tournament, is one of two planned for the 2014 season. The one-day competition kicks off at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m.
