The Digicel Dynamos hope to continue their current form in the field.
Rhys Ebanks, Stephanie Norris and company are 6-2, good enough for third in the C League of the 2014 Winter Adult Coed Softball League, put on by the Cayman Islands Little League Association.
The Dynamos are next in action on April 4 against division rivals 2-3-3 Uniregistry from 7:30 p.m. on field four of the Field of Dreams.
The contest serves as the final match for week nine of the 13-week competition. Digicel headed into this week behind 6-2 UBS Swingers and 8-0 Dart. Daniel Adamson, Jeffrey Gabriel and the Uniregistry crew trailed 3-4-1 NCB Crushers while leading 2-5-1 Intertrust, 2-5-1 Bud Light and 1-7 HSBC.
Heading into this week, Dart was one of two unbeaten teams left. The other was 8-0 Tower Titans, who had a one-game lead over 7-1 KPMG in the A League standings.
This week’s contests started from Sunday and one of the more entertaining results saw Delphi Geeks edge BritCay Premiums, 25-23, on Tuesday in a B League clash.
Delphi, who improved to 3-6, was rolling on offense early with hits from the likes of Neville Morgan, Johann Taylor and Michael Webster. BritCay, who dropped to 4-5, would eventually erase a 10-run deficit behind timely hitting from Jonathan Whittaker, Jamaal Anderson and David Conolly II.
Delphi batter Matthew Yates, a sports reporter at the Caymanian Compass, had three hits in three at-bats, three runs scored, two singles (one deep to right field and the other up the middle) and an inside-the-park three-run home run deep to left field.
Both Delphi and BritCay trail three top teams in the division: 7-1 YMCA We Got The Runs, 6-3 Coors Light Chuggers and 5-3 Home Gas Regulators.
