At an elegant afternoon garden tea party on Friday that featured glorious hats, tasty teas, artwork and auctions, supporters of the National Gallery turned out in force. The annual tea party is hosted by Ariane Dart, a benefactor of the gallery, at the garden of her home on West Bay Road. Thousands of dollars were raised for the gallery through donations, a silent auction, and a live, and lively, auction that included the sale of works of art by local artists, a family photo session by photographer Melissa Wolfe and a luxury vacation in Honduras, among several other hotly contested items.
