Pete Ribbins ride again for HospiceCare

Cayman Water has organized the second annual Pete Ribbins Memorial Ride and local cyclists are sure to come out in support of the late sportsman.

It is on Aug. 17. and proceeds will be donated to Cayman HospiceCare in honour of Peter Ribbins, past CWC general manager.

There is a 40km bike ride from 6.30 a.m., entry $20, and a 10km ride from 7.30 a.m, with entry of $15.

Breakfast will be provided for all participants following the ride, and there will be prizes and giveaways.

The start and finish is at Cayman Water Company’s Abel Castillo Water Works plant on Peninsula Way, Governor’s Harbour.

From the plant, cyclists head south along the Esterley Tibbetts Highway to the Butterfield roundabout. Riders will take the third exit onto Godfrey Nixon Way and turn right onto Eastern Avenue towards the West Bay Road/North Church Street intersection.

Riders then head north along West Bay Road, past Public Beach to North West Point Road and onto Boatswain Bay Road and Finch Drive before turning left onto Birch Tree Hill all the way to Capt. Reginald Parsons Drive onto Mount Pleasant and left onto Meadow Ave, right on Up The Hill Road to onto Batabano Road and onto the new section of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, all the way to the plant. There the 10km group will join and follow the same route to Public Beach roundabout, as covered by those doing the 40km via West Bay Road, where everyone will then head back to the plant.
