Two injured in one-car crash in West Bay

Police officers and emergency services personnel used the “Jaws of Life” tool to rescue a driver early Friday after a car collided with a concrete wall at the intersection of Birch Tree Hill Road and Andresen Road in West Bay.

The car was traveling south on Birch Tree Hill Road when the accident occurred about 1:30 a.m., according to police.

A 31-year-old woman was driving with a male passenger, 23. Both were transported by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital.

The driver received injuries to her face, upper body and legs.

The man received injuries to his face, legs and a dislocated shoulder. Their injuries were not life threatening, police said.
