Two of the biggest derbies in British football will have Cayman football fans glued to their TVs on Saturday.
For the early risers, Liverpool play Everton at Anfield, kick off 6.45 a.m. local time.
Arsenal host Tottenham at the Emirates in the other, kick off at 11.30 a.m.
Liverpool have had a shaky start to the season and desperately need to beat their arch rivals to have any hope of challenging for the Premier League title. Realistically, only a Champions League spot should be their target, considering how much better Chelsea, Arsenal and champions Manchester City have looked so far.
Arsenal were ousted from the Capital One Cup against Southampton on Tuesday and although the Gunners fielded mostly reserves and youngsters, they were disappointed and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger looked dejected afterwards.
Wenger’s frustration was in stark contrast to counterpart Ronald Koeman, who oversaw Southampton’s fifth successive win in all competitions.
The Saints are the surprise team so far. Arsenal have no better motivation to return to winning ways than against their north London rivals.
Danny Welbeck has got off the mark with his first goal for Arsenal and wants to build on that confidence booster and completely shake off the reputation of being a poor finisher for good. This match is a perfect opportunity to prove his point.
Spurs have had an indifferent start to the season and beating Arsenal will stimulate their campaign perfectly.
Saturday’s other Premiership fixtures are Chelsea V Aston Villa, Crystal Palace V Leicester, Hull V Manchester City, Manchester United V West Ham, Southampton V QPR and Sunderland V Swansea.
Sunday’s sole Premiership game is West Brom V Burnley, kick off 10 a.m. Monday’s fixture is Stoke V Newcastle, kick off 2 p.m.
