Arrest linked to Coconut Joe’s

Royal Cayman Islands Police officers arrested a George Town man Monday night in connection with a restaurant robbery along Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach.

The 34-year-old was referred to in a police press release as a “person of interest” in the robbery that occurred at Coconut Joe’s on West Bay Road last Thursday. He had not been charged by press time.

Police said the man was one of two people sought in connection with the holdup, in which the restaurant and several patrons were robbed just before closing. The Coconut Joe’s robbery was one of four armed heists to occur last week on Grand Cayman.

  1. A big thanks to the RCIPS and I hope that you have the right person arrested. Please keep up the pressure as we need to send a clear message that this type of crime will not be tolerated in the Cayman Islands.
