A man armed with a knife robbed a woman in front of her two children at a Savannah shopping center Thursday evening. He was arrested a short time later, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.
At around 5 p.m. Thursday, the 911 center received a call from a woman who stated a man approached her with a knife and demanded cash. The woman’s 10-year-old and 2-year-old daughters were with her when the robbery occurred, she said.
What police described as “a small amount of cash” was handed over and the suspect fled.
A 39-year-old Bodden Town man who was arrested in connection with the robbery remained in custody on Friday.
