The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has rescheduled four of its upcoming community district meetings to next month.
Meetings in George Town, Bodden Town, North Side and East End that had been scheduled to be held this week will now take place in February, according to Chief Inspector Raymond Christian, who said the dates had been changed due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
Meetings at Bodden Town’s James M. Bodden Sr. Civic Centre, North Side’s Craddock Ebanks Civic Centre, and the East End United Church Hall, scheduled for Jan. 27, 28 and 29, respectively, have been rescheduled to Feb. 23, 24 and 25, respectively.
Also, a meeting at Mary Miller Hall in George Town district that had been scheduled for Jan. 28 will now be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
A community meeting at West Bay’s Sir John A. Cumber School Hall, hosted by District Area Commander Chief Inspector Harlan Powery, will be held as scheduled from 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28; and a meeting at the South Sound Community Centre at 6 p.m. with Chief Inspector Claudia Brady will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31.
The meetings will address issues concerning policing within the districts and police are urging residents to attend to raise any matter pertinent to the local community’s safety and security.
