Bubble soccer event raises $9,000

Thinking outside the box, and inside the bubble, helped Caledonian Global Financial Services come up with a novel theme for their latest fundraising event.

Businesses faced off at Camana Bay on Friday for a bubble soccer tournament, raising more than $9,000 for the Hedge Funds Care group of charities.

Competitors donned large rubber bubble suits and took to the soccer field for the small-sided game.

Kobi Dorenbush, CEO of Caledonian, said the idea was to have fun and help raise money for the children’s charities supported by Hedge Funds Care.

He said the event, which involved companies from around the Cayman Islands, was a great opportunity for networking and team-building.
