Jars of Beech-Nut baby food that are subject to a recall in the United States due to glass found in the product are not sold in Cayman, local grocery stores have confirmed.
Manufacturer Beech-Nut Nutrition, based in Amsterdam, New York, is recalling more than 1,900 pounds of the baby food, contained in 4 ounce glass jars of “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS Sweet Potato & Chicken,” after a consumer reported finding a piece of glass in the product. One child was reportedly injured while eating the food.
Kirk Market issued a statement Thursday to inform its customers that while Beech-Nut products are sold in its store, it does not stock this particular affected item. Foster’s Food Fair IGA and Hurley’s also confirmed the product was not stocked at their stores.
