Preysal Cricket Club from Preysal Village in Central Trinidad is sending an Under-18 youth team to the Cayman Islands on a development tour next month.
The tour runs from Nov. 22-30. Preysal Sports Club’s previous visits to Cayman provided locals with the opportunity to play against future West Indies cricketers Darren Bravo, Adrian Barath, Shannon Gabriel and a few T&T national players.
The village of Preysal has a long history of producing great cricketers. Names like the late Inshan Ali, Rangy Nanan, Ravi Rampaul and former West Indies captain Dinesh Ramdin and a host of T&T players, including Cayman Islands coach Theo Cuffy.
“Cayman Cricket is excited for the renewal of these visits as they provide excellent opportunities for our youngsters to gain much needed experience against stronger opponents,” Cuffy said.
Cayman youth players are invited to attend practice sessions starting this Saturday at Smith Road Oval from 9 a.m.
The invited players are: Abrahim Allen, Ajani Anderson, Edward Bodden, Reshawn Brown, Joeniel Bent, Alex Cameron, Wayne Cato Jr., Ajahn Christian, Taurean Cox, Michael Ebanks, Rory Forbes, Thompson Hew, Revaughn Johnson, Paul Laidlaw, Shane Logan, Hakim Murray, Karim Murray, Romel Turner, Tareque Simpson, John Tweedie, Dominic Walcott, Lucien Watson.
