Ground floor restaurant also included in plans
Dart Realty has submitted plans for a new four-story building in Camana Bay that will feature a ground floor restaurant, shops and office space.
The developer says the new project will be a sister building to the recently completed 18 Forum Lane, which will feature PwC as anchor tenant.
Just over half the space in that building is leased or under negotiation, with Hurley’s Media Group also signed on to locate its broadcast operation on the ground floor. It will also include retail stores as well as other financial services firms.
A spokeswoman for Dart Realty said the second building, which will share a courtyard with 18 Forum Lane, has always been part of the master plan for Camana Bay.
She said the developer was reacting to the “enthusiastic market response” to 18 Forum Lane by moving ahead with the second building so quickly.
“The development philosophy of Camana Bay is for the town to grow organically and at a pace driven by the needs of the market and the community,” she said.
“The new building will include a variety of uses on the ground floor including retail and restaurant spaces and office space on the remaining three floors. Several prospective tenants have expressed interest in a new building but there are no agreements in place.”
She said corporate demand for office space at Camana Bay had exceeded expectations since the first buildings opened in 2007.
Plans for the building were submitted to the Department of Planning last week. It features 86,000 square feet of office, retail and restaurant space to be leased. Dart Realty says it will feature the same sustainable design attributes of the 18 Forum Lane building and will include a 100kw solar array.
