Two liquor stores were broken into last weekend on Cayman Brac and cash was taken in at least one of the cases, Royal Cayman Islands Police said Thursday.
The first break-in, believed to have been around 3 a.m. on Feb. 6, occurred when the suspect or suspects broke into a side door and removed an electric meter from the side of the building.
In the second break-in, early on Feb. 7, two masked suspects removed an electricity meter at Big Daddy’s liquor store on Gerrard Smith Avenue, disconnecting power. A metal door was forced open and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken, police said. Brac police officers have been conducting security checks of businesses since the break-ins.
Business owners who want security tips are asked to call the Brac RCIPS police station at 948-0331.
