Sand Angels in Camana Bay, a boutique specializing in luxury resort wear, and local womenswear brand Isy B., have come together to host a runway event on June 2 to raise funds and awareness for the National Council of Voluntary Organisations Caring Cousins program.
The fashion show will be held at Sand Angels from 6 to 8 p.m., highlighting the launch of the newest Isy B. collection for sale at the boutique.
Guests will be greeted with complimentary bubbles upon arrival, courtesy of the West Indies Wine Company, and a cash bar will be available for the rest of the evening. They can then take their seats for the show, hosted by Isy Obi.
Cayman’s top models will walk the runway, wearing the latest collections from Isy B. and Sand Angels. Representatives from the NCVO will also be present to provide more information about their programs, and to give those interested the chance to sign up as a volunteer or supporter of the charity.
In six years of business, Sand Angels has grown to include a wide-ranging global collection of resort wear, swimwear and accessories sourced from designers from as far afield as the U.S., Australia, Germany, Brazil, Latin America and the U.K.
Sand Angels founder Catherine Dawson-James, has an eye for searching out new talent and bringing it to Cayman; she therefore plans now to include local brand Isy B. among her constellation of handpicked designers.
“Sand Angels has a history of supporting organizations in Cayman whose ambitions are to excel on the international stage. Some of the organizations we’ve supported [over the years] include the Cayman Islands Women’s Beach Volleyball team and the Miss Cayman Beauty Pageant,” said Ms. Dawson-James. “We are pleased now to support to local Cayman brand Isy B. by bringing it on board at Sand Angels. We love the brand’s concept and elegant collections and know that it will be a great fit for our store. The runway event is a great way for Isy B. and Sand Angels to bring Cayman’s fashionistas together for a good cause.”
See www.sandangels.com for information on the boutique and brands represented.
The new Isy B. collection will be released later this year exclusively for the Cayman market ahead of its release for sale anywhere else in the world and features a new print design called “Cayman Water.”
Isy B. has seen unparalleled international success following its launch in 2015, presenting its collection at London Fashion Week, Allure Fashion Weekend and Cayman Islands Fashion Week, and being picked up by New York-based online retailer and Macy’s partner Nineteenth Amendment at the end of 2015.
Now the brand looks forward to having a retail base in Cayman.
“Isy B. is a proudly Cayman inspired fashion brand, and we are thankful to our fans in Cayman who have been among our greatest supporters,” said Isy Obi, founder and designer of Isy B. “We are also delighted to offer our collections through Sand Angels. We know that our fans will be guaranteed to enjoy the heavenly shopping experience it offers.
“Both our brands share a strong commitment to contributing to the Cayman community that has supported us, and hosting a runway event that supports the work of the NCVO is the perfect way to achieve that.”

The NCVO is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to the care, education and well-being of children in Cayman. The NCVO Caring Cousins program currently provides much-needed school lunches for 37 children in Cayman.
“It’s wonderful to have local fashion businesses and the fashion-loving community coming together to support the work that we do,” said NCVO Coordinator Alta Bodden. “We look forward to a fantastic event.”
