Can you imagine a party with absolutely no sound? That is what MUTED will bring to the local entertainment scene. Quiet Sessions by Ironshore music group, in association with Cîroc and Cayman Airways, will host Cayman’s first exclusive silent party at George Town Yacht Club on Saturday.

What is a silent party? It is an experience like nothing you’ve experienced before. The concept has become very popular in the U.S., the U.K. and Taiwan, but this is the first time it will be offered in the Cayman Islands.

Multi-channel, over-ear headphones provided to each person are specially designed to broadcast from different DJs in the same venue. You will be able to toggle between three DJ stations throughout the night.

If you want to stop and chat with your friends, simply remove your headphones and you can have a conversation without yelling.

Don’t like the music you’re hearing? Change the channel with the touch of a button.

So, basically, you can listen to all genres of music at the same party by simply flipping a switch on the headphones to check out what the red, green or blue zone is playing.

This setup turns the event into a silent disco, full of people singing and dancing. Meanwhile, a DJ competition rages to get you to listen to their respective color.
It is also a great way to have a party without driving the neighbors bonkers.

These parties have become very popular around the world.

The MUTED party will have six DJs:

  • Red channel (Soca: DJ Silver Fox and DJ RKM)
  • Blue channel (Top 40, House and EDM: DJ Lizzie Curious and DJ Bengal)
  • Green channel (Reggae and Hip Hop: ZJ Chrome and Operator TNT)

Part proceeds will go toward Feed Our Future and to the Hoopsters basketball team, which is planning to send Caymanian players to a summer basketball camp in Florida.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday for the MUTED silent party at the George Town Yacht Club. Tickets are $25 presale.

Note: tickets are not available at the gate, so they must be purchased in advance to guarantee entrance.

Buy tickets at the George Town Yacht Club, Funky Tang’s, Singh’s Roti Shop and Cayman Coffee Shop.
