The Layman E. Scott Sr. High School graduation ceremony drew a large crowd to celebrate the accomplishments of the 23 members of the school’s graduating class.

Held on June 18 at the Aston Rutty Centre, the ceremony featured remarks from a number of speakers and presentation of numerous awards, and was attended by dignitaries and elected officials including Education Minister Tara Rivers and Deputy Premier Moses Kirkconnell.

The keynote speaker was Myfanwy Leggatt, a member of the school’s graduating class of 2008. This year’s class distinguished itself academically, as 17 of the 23 students achieved the status of honors graduates by gaining seven or more level 2 passes in external examinations.

The class valedictorian was Kimberly Tatum-Aguirre and class salutatorian was John Tomlinson.
