Cayman’s Olympic athletes, led by flag-bearer Ronald Forbes and wearing custom-designed “turtle ranger” outfits, joined the parade of nations through Brazil’s famous Maracana Stadium Friday night for the opening ceremony of the 2016 Rio Games.

Five athletes – sprinter Kemar Hyman, hurdler Forbes, sailor Florence Allan and swimmers Geoff and Lara Butler – and six officials are representing the Cayman Islands. More than 200 countries are represented at these Games.

Cayman swimmers – and siblings – Lara and Geoff Butler are competing Saturday and Sunday.
