Cayman sprinter Kemar Hyman’s 100m time of 10.34 seconds on Saturday fell short of qualifying for the semifinals Sunday at the Olympic Games in Rio.
Hyman, 26, who ran in Round 1, finished well behind the qualifying cut-off time of 10.20 seconds. The top finishers were Justin Gatlin of the United States (10.01), Ben Youssef Meite of the Ivory Coast (10.03), Andre De Grasse of Canada (10.04) and Usain Bolt of Jamaica (10.07).
Hyman tied with two others for 45th place out of 69 sprinters.
Saturday is Florence Allan’s final day on the water in the Laser Radial sailing race.
She finished Friday ranked 35th. Ms. Allan is Cayman’s youngest Olympian this year.
