Savannah Primary School is celebrating literacy this week.
“Daily, the students are Dropping Everything And Reading (D.E.A.R.),” said Principal Carol Nyack.
“On Wednesday, the door competition had students responding to reading by writing out their favorite parts of a book, which were then reflected artistically on the classroom doors.”
The literacy week is part of the school’s ongoing efforts to expand students’ reading and math skills and activities both at school and at home.
Ms. Nyack said next up the school is holding a pajamas reading evening on Thursday, and on Friday, classes will be presenting interpretive dances and performances of stories they have been reading.
