Looking to really get into the spirit of the season? Then the annual St. Ignatius Christmas Concert should definitely be on your list.
Scheduled for Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in Loyola Hall, the evening will feature all of the school bands and choirs performing a variety of Christmas music for attendees to enjoy, with plenty of familiar carols and songs on the menu.
Some lucky winners will leave the night a little richer. The program will conclude with the gate prize drawing for $25,000, second prize of $2,500, and third prize of US$2,500. There are more than 20 additional prizes, including five Cayman Airways US$300 travel vouchers, which can be used toward any Cayman Airways destination.
This is the main annual fundraiser for St. Ignatius, with net proceeds to benefit both the church and the school. The church will invest funds toward facilities improvements in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. The school will use the proceeds toward the new facilities development fund. A portion of the proceeds will go to the scholarship fund, which provides tuition assistance for those families who are unable to afford full school fees. A donation will also be made to a local charity.
Tickets cost $25 and are available at the school or church offices and from a number of parents, students, and church members. Tickets are also on sale at several businesses … just look for the bright green posters! Tickets will also be on sale outside most major supermarkets from Dec. 1-14.
Several years ago, one of the ticket purchasers summed it all up by saying, “Everyone who buys a ticket is a winner because we are supporting our young people and the future of Cayman.”
