Great food, friendships and fun are all on the menu in coming weeks for seniors in celebration of the festive season.

East End seniors are anticipating a luncheon meal of mouth-watering delights such as Cayman-style beef stew, conch stew, chicken and a variety of heavy cakes at the East End Civic Centre on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m.

The Department of Children and Family Services is putting together the event, and all seniors are encouraged to come out and have a good time.

The occasion will also give seniors the opportunity to make new bonds of friendship and share tales of days gone by.

As always, organizers of the event plan on staging reenactments, recitals and short skits of yesteryear for the group to enjoy.

Other delicious dishes such as fish with white rice, coleslaw, potato salad, rolls and corn bread will also be on offer.

The Department of Children and Family Services is also hosting a children’s Christmas at the East End Beach cabanas on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m.

Other seniors parties around the island:

  • A George Town seniors get-together takes place Dec. 19 at the Family Life Centre at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and seniors will tour the Christmas lights after the meal.
