Foster’s co-founder Steve Foster passes

Foster’s Food Fair-IGA co-founder Minard Steve Foster died Thursday evening. He was 78.
He passed away in a hospital in the United States.

Mr. Foster and his brother David established Foster’s Food Fair in 1980 with the help of a family loan and with mother Alta Foster’s blessing.

The brothers went on to develop several other successful business ventures, including Car City, Progressive Distributors Ltd. and Cico Avis Rental.

Mr. Foster moved to the Cayman Islands from Jamaica in 1966.

Foster’s managing director Woody Foster said his uncle had a short but valiant fight before passing.

“Uncle Steve and our dad built the business together as they did everything together. When our dad passed, Uncle Steve filled the void for us in every way. We will miss him greatly,” Woody Foster said.
