The sentencing of former senior police officer Adrian James Barnett for dangerous driving, driving while impaired and leaving the scene of an accident was postponed when he appeared in Traffic Court Wednesday.
Mr. Barnett, the former head of the police’s Traffic Management Unit, pleaded guilty Monday to all three charges stemming from an incident in June 2017. He will next appear in court on Feb. 28.
Mr. Barnett, 53, was formally charged with the offenses on Dec. 12 and made his first court appearance on Jan. 8. He surrendered his driver’s license on Monday.
