A teenager was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery at West Bay’s Batabano Plaza, the Royal Cayman Islands Police reported.
A firearm that was found two days before the arrest at a West Bay residence was also recovered as part of the robbery investigation, police said. The 18-year-old male suspect was in police custody as of press time Thursday, but had not been charged with any crimes.
The robbery at the West Bay shopping plaza occurred around 6:15 a.m. on April 10, as a Batabano Plaza business was opening. Police said a man approached holding a firearm and demanding cash and then fled after obtaining some money.
No one was hurt in the robbery, police said.
