Those who are not away for the public holiday weekend can head to Camana Bay on Monday evening.

Fireworks are scheduled for 8:30pm to celebrate Constitution Day.

The evening begins at 6:30pm with a DJ spinning the tunes until 9:30pm and food and drink will be on sale.

The restaurants of Camana Bay are presenting the fireworks, which will be clearly visible from vantage points along the Crescent. Thanks to outdoor seating available for Waterfront, Mizu, Pani, KARoo, The Brooklyn and Agua, diners will have front row seats for the action. Alternatively, there are open areas overlooking The Harbour where people can stand or sit.

Constitution Day

Every first Monday of July is Constitution Day in the Cayman Islands. It is a public holiday that commemorates the passing of the islands’ first constitution back in 1959. The date of adoption of the constitution that year was 4 July, but the recognition of that date is always moved to the closest Monday. This year’s celebration is particularly important as it is the 60th anniversary of the islands’ Coat of Arms.
