Following the successful end of season Little League Alumni Baseball Games held at the Field of Dreams on 7 June, players and coaches alike were keen to create an Alumni Baseball League.

After some hiccups in establishing how the League would be organised, the first games in what the players have dubbed, the ‘Sandlot Baseball Series’ got off to a great start Saturday evening at the Field of Dreams.

Playing on Field 4, RVC Rehab Services edged Bluewater Medical Supplies 8‑6 in a close game that could have gone either way. In a pitching duel, starting pitchers David Taylor and Jordan Stubblefield kept hits scarce, however in the end RVC overcame Bluewater to post the win.

Playing on Field 3, Maples took on Andro in an exciting hitters game with Maples scoring 5 in the early innings off hits from Robbie Cribb Jr. and Zach Bodden. However, starting pitcher Arvin Plaza was only able to contain Andro temporarily, as in classic come-from-behind fashion, Andro’s Michael Wilson hit a 3‑run blast to deep left in the 5th to secure a final score of 10‑5.
