A man was assaulted and robbed on School Road in George Town early on Sunday morning.

Police received a report of the crime just after 3:15am.

The victim reported that he had been attacked by a man and a quantity of cash was stolen from his pockets.

Police said the suspect, who is described as tall, slim and having low cut hair, made off on a bicycle.

The victim attended hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and then discharged.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident take place to call the George Town Police Station at 949‑4222.
