A man accused of stabbing a woman in the head had his charges sent to the Grand Court on Tuesday.
Troy Andre Ivey, 29, of Bodden Town, appeared before the Summary Court to face charges of wounding with intent, wounding and carrying an offensive weapon. The charges stem from an incident on Sunday.
Police said in a press release that just after 2:05am Sunday, officers received reports of a man threatening to stab a woman he knew. Police say they were also told that the car the man and woman were travelling was involved in a single-vehicle accident.
A spokesperson for RCIPS said that when police arrived on the scene, the woman was found with an injury to her head, which EMS staff later identified as stab wounds.
Ivey was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and a search of the car revealed a knife.
The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was treated and later released.
Ivey is scheduled to appear in Grand Court on 20 Sept.
