Residents of Grand Cayman felt an earthquake tremor early Monday morning.
The United States Geological Survey reported that a magnitude 5 earthquake occurred at 1:12am about 47 miles east south east of East End, at a depth of 6.2 miles.
No tsunami alert appeared to have been issued.
Residents took to Facebook and other social media to report feeling the short but strong tremor.
According to the USGS, the quake was felt in the Cayman Islands, Honduras and Cuba.
