The Z99 radio station has teamed up with the Cayman Islands Tourism Association to bring Cayman an online Easter egg hunt and raffle.
To participate in the hunt and raffle draw, people can register on the Z99 website. There is a $10 entry fee.
Once players are registered, they can visit the CITA website where they should look for 35 hidden eggs, stated a press release. Players click on the egg and enter their details. The more eggs that are found, the more entries they will receive in the raffle.

CITA members have donated raffle prizes, which include a one-night stay in an oceanview room at the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa; a one-night stay at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, including brunch for two at its Anchor & Den restaurant; a $200 De Sunglass Man voucher; a half-day snorkel charter and introduction to scuba diving course from Shaggy’s Diving; a Five Star Charters gift bag; and many vouchers from restaurants, including Macabuca, Rackam’s and Sandbar, among others.
The spread of COVID-19 and stay-at-home orders from governments locally and around the world, as well as restrictions on restaurants and public gatherings in Cayman, has had an immense impact on businesses, big and small.
“Tourism is currently one of the most affected aspects of the economy due to the outbreak of COVID-19,” said Jay Ehrhart, executive director at CITA, in the press release.
“As this COVID-19 situation continues, we’re identifying issues and making recommendations and suggestions to the government so we can make our way out of the crisis, back to business and into a new future.”
Hurley’s Media was forced to cancel five events in the first half of this year due to the impacts of COVID-19.
“Although we had to cancel our annual Z99 Easter Dig this year, we are excited by the opportunity to team up with CITA to keep this event going in a virtual format,” said Brydie Phillips, public relations and marketing manager at Hurley’s Media.
“We are thrilled to be supporting CITA with this initiative but we’re also happy to bring some excitement around Easter to everyone living in Cayman who will not get to celebrate this holiday in 2020 as they usually would.”
Ehrhart added, “We want to thank our members who have so generously donated prizes for the raffle, especially during this uncertain time.”
The online raffle closes at 5pm Wednesday and will be drawn Friday. Winners will be notified via telephone or email.
To register to play, visit www.Z99.ky. Once you have paid your registration fee (through www.eventpro.ky), visit www.cita.ky and start clicking on the member pages to find the hidden eggs. These can be found through the links under the title ‘Explore by Category’ at the bottom of the main CITA website page; examples: ‘Where to Eat’ and ‘Where to Stay’. Tap on each member’s link within these categories and hunt for the elusive blue eggs. Need hints? Check out the CITA Facebook page.
Proceeds from the raffle will support CITA, whose more than 250 members are experiencing the impact of COVID-19.
