Cyclist injured in crash with Jeep

A collision between a Jeep and a bicycle resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to a cyclist Friday morning, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said.

Officers responded to the accident at the intersection of Hirst Road and the East-West Arterial around 11:30am Friday.

“The bicycle had been travelling along the East West Arterial and the Jeep had been travelling north along Hirst Road, when they collided,” an RCIPS release read.

“Emergency services attended the location and the cyclist was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured.”

The collision is under investigation.
