Whether you are a lover of paintings, jewellery or even the artistry of henna, odds are good you have encountered the work of Shilpa Tagalpallewar.
She is a regular at local markets, such as Wednesdays in Camana Bay and Cayfest’s Red Sky at Night, as well as venue events and any Indian-themed parties. Shilpa is also a regular contributor to the annual Cayman Watercolours Calendar, donating her pieces to raise money for local charities such as Jasmine and the National Children’s Voluntary Organisation (NCVO).
It is fair to say that Shilpa lives for her art, and is happiest when she has a brush in her hand. Now, her vibrant and colourful works can be seen in the exclusive ‘Palette of Passion’ exhibition, which opens at 5pm on Saturday, 6 Nov. at Cayman Handmade Collective, located at 72 North Church Street (next to Digicel). The exhibition will run through the end of the year.
The public is welcome to attend the launch, which is free of charge. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
This is a wonderful opportunity to browse a variety of pieces with subjects that run the gamut from dreamy seascapes to proud roosters and stunning tropical plants.
After the opening, the exhibition can be viewed in normal business hours from 10am-6pm, Tuesday-Sunday. Visit the Cayman Handmade Collective Facebook page for more information.
