George Town man arrested for firearms offences

On Wednesday, a 20-year-old George Town man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm, police said.

The arrest is in connection with two shooting incidents which occurred in October – one on Shedden Road and the other on Canal Point Road.

The development comes following a first arrest, of a West Bay man, who was taken into custody and charged in October in relation to multiple shooting incidents as well as for drug-related offences, police said.

The George Town man has been bailed, as police investigations remain ongoing.

Detectives continue to encourage anyone with information to call the Major Incident Room at 649-2930.
