It’s that time of the year again! Get ready to empty those coin jars, piggy banks and spare change trays in order to raise funds for seniors.
The 6th annual Cayman Islands Meals on Wheels Change for Change Coin Drive will have over 300 volunteers stationed around Grand Cayman on Friday and Saturday, 28-29 Jan. collecting coins, cash and donations of any amount for the charity.

Last year’s drive was a record-breaking one, after unfortunately having to cancel the 2020 fundraiser due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the ongoing challenges, MOW continues to provide daily hot meals to those in need across Grand Cayman.
Jennifer West, general manager MOW, stated, “We are hoping to raise enough funds to provide over 7,040 nutritious hot meals to seniors and other vulnerable members of our community. This is the number of meals served each month by MOW!”
West encouraged everyone to support this event generously.
“Loose change may not seem like it could make much of a difference, but when the community pulls together, it all adds up to make a huge difference to help those who need us most.”
Volunteers are still needed to cover two-hour shifts, collecting donations over the two days.

“All ages have always supported the fundraiser and we look forward to full community support once again to make it a success [in order] to meet our goal,” West said.
Collection locations include: Credit Union, Butterfield (Governors Square and Butterfield Place), Galleria Plaza, all Foster’s supermarkets, Cayman National (Elgin Avenue), Rubis AA (Red Bay), Atlantic Department Store, Atlantic Kids, Kirk Home Centre, Hurley’s Supermarket, Camana Bay (Paseo), A.L. Thompson’s, Kirk Market, Café del Sol (Marquee Plaza) and West Shore Plaza.
Thanks to sponsor Davenport Development, each volunteer will be provided with a volunteer shirt, collection bucket and face mask.
