A homeowner walked in on two masked burglars as they were removing a safe bolted to the floor at a house in Anne Bonny Crescent, off South Sound Road, in George Town Monday, police said.

The owner was forced into a room at the home and locked inside, during the aggravated burglary, which occurred around 3pm.

Police said the owner had interrupted the two men as they were using a crowbar to remove the safe, which contained documents and personal items.

The burglars fled the scene, with the safe, in a black sedan.

Police did not reveal the gender of the victim, but said the person did not report any injuries.
