A homeowner walked in on two masked burglars as they were removing a safe bolted to the floor at a house in Anne Bonny Crescent, off South Sound Road, in George Town Monday, police said.
The owner was forced into a room at the home and locked inside, during the aggravated burglary, which occurred around 3pm.
Police said the owner had interrupted the two men as they were using a crowbar to remove the safe, which contained documents and personal items.
The burglars fled the scene, with the safe, in a black sedan.
Police did not reveal the gender of the victim, but said the person did not report any injuries.
One of the assailants was described as tall, of medium built, of dark complexion, with a T-shirt covering his face. The other man was short, of dark complexion and slim.
