Aaron Jarvis returned to local competition after taking part in the US Masters last month, to win a World Amateur Golf Ranking event held recently at the North Sound Golf Club.

Aaron bested a field of 20 amateur golfers, including his older brother, Andrew Jarvis, who he edged by one shot, to win 8-under par for the tournament.

The two brothers previously faced off during the Cayman Islands national golf championships in March, which Andrew won, claiming victory over the 2022 Latin America Amateur champion.

However, Aaron regained bragging rights at the final hole of the two-day event held 14-15 May.

On the 18th hole Sunday afternoon, after hitting their approach shots, Andrew’s birdie putt to tie the score lipped out, leaving his younger brother with a 3-foot putt for par and the victory.

Aaron held his nerve and made the putt, giving him a one-stroke win with an overall score of 8-under par. Andrew finished 7-under par ahead of Payten Wight in third place.

The next event will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club on 11-12 June.
