A customer was injured on Tuesday at the Department of Vehicle and Driver’s Licensing’s Breakers location, a statement from the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure has confirmed.
An investigation, it said, has been launched into the incident.
The brief statement, issued Tuesday afternoon, said that the incident occurred that morning, as the customer was in the process of getting a motor vehicle inspected.
The Cayman Compass has requested more details on what transpired as the ministry statement did not explain how the customer came to be injured.
The statement said the customer was taken for medical assistance.
It is unclear whether the individual involved needed hospitalisation.
“The safety and well-being of our employees and customers remains our priority,” the statement following the incident said.
