Police have charged a 29-year-old man with breaching a protection order and with four other offences relating to a series of domestic violence incidents spanning a six-week period.
The other charges facing the man are three counts of assault and one count of damage to property. Those offences occurred between 6 May and 16 June.
“Protection orders are an important tool for addressing incidents of domestic violence,” Superintendent Peter Lansdown said in a statement issued by the RCIPS. “Having such orders in place provides another avenue for arresting and charging perpetrators who breach them, thus helping safeguard victims.
“This case is one recent example where the breach of a protection order has led to additional charges.”
The man appeared in court today, 1 July.
