For most of her life, Faith’s only view of the world was from under the car where she spent her days.
Weeks, months, years passed, with very little reprieve from her monotonous existence. But then the Cayman Islands Humane Society and well-known local animal advocate Juliette Heath came into her life, and things changed for the sweet dog.
Faith immediately embraced her new freedom with gusto, running on the beach, revelling in cuddles she was given by attentive people, and savouring every moment she could.
Beyond the rough circumstances under which she was found, Faith also had other issues. A growth on the left side of her face had grown to the size where it was not feasible to operate on it. However, it clearly wasn’t bothering her – it was just not aesthetically pleasing.
Heath immediately took her in, even though she already had 10 dogs and 10 cats on her property.

“How could I resist her?” Heath said. “From the very beginning, she was incredibly low maintenance. She is fully house-trained and no trouble at all. It breaks my heart to say she was simply grateful for any attention and when she first got to run on the beach and swim in the water, you could just tell she was thrilled for the new experience.”
From that moment on, Heath took a personal interest in Faith. Although there is no question that they bonded, the animal lover is already overwhelmed with the charges presently in her care. She knows that the best life for Faith would be for her to be part of (ideally) a one-dog home, in order to give her the attention she truly deserves.
Heath really wants to find a loving foster home, or, ideally, a forever home for the “very special dog” she says is “an absolute sweetheart”.
“I so want her to thrive with someone who recognises how special she is,” said Heath. “I understand that people might be put off by that growth, but she isn’t, so why not give her a chance?”
It seems that even after the odds that have been stacked against her, Faith still has faith that there is an owner out there willing to take her in. Could you be that person?
