Jet skiers will take to the waters off Seven Mile Public Beach this Sunday, 25 Sept., for the P1 AquaX Cayman Islands National Tour.

The Cayman Islands Watercaraft Association confirmed, in an email to the Compass, that the winner of this race will qualify for the World Championships in Atlantis, Bahamas later this year.

CIWA noted that the race route (see map), as well as safety measures that the public needs to follow on the day, have been approved by the Cayman Islands Port Authority, including setting up a temporary water-sports zone between Harbour Heights and the Kimpton hotel.

“This will be monitored/controlled by our officials and the Cayman Islands Coast Guard,” CIWA stated. “Outside [of] boating traffic, swimmers etc., for their own safety will not be allowed in the designated area during that time.”

In addition, cabanas will be set up specifically for the event, which is expected to run from 11am to 5pm.
