Man arrested following mugging in George Town

Police on Saturday arrested a suspect after a man was assaulted and robbed as he sat in a vehicle outside a bar in George Town in the early morning.

The robbery, involving three masked men, occurred around 2:20am outside the bar on Shedden Road, near North Sound Road, police said.

The men fled the location in a vehicle, the RCIPS said in a statement.

Police issued descriptions of the three men, saying one was of dark complexion, medium build, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and was wearing a ski mask and a black jacket. Another was about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, of slim build, and wearing a mask covering his nose and chin. The third man was of larger build, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and was wearing a full mask.

Shortly after police responded to the robbery report, officers located a vehicle on Canal Point Drive which fitted the description of the one used by the suspects.
