The number of Cubans that have arrived illegally by boat on Cayman Brac has crossed the 100 mark as 34 new people landed on Monday on the bigger of two Sister Islands, Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control confirmed.
The six females and 28 males who entered the island on Monday bring the total number of Cubans being held on Cayman Brac to 106. Another 107 are being held on Grand Cayman in CBC facilities.
CBC confirmed that after the vessel arrived, around 1:45pm on Monday, the passengers disembarked and were processed in accordance with the agency’s established protocols.
This latest landing follows arrivals on the Brac over three consecutive days last week of three vessels, each carrying 27 Cubans.
