After a COVID-enforced hiatus of three years, Taste of Cayman will be coming back on 13 May 2023, the Cayman Islands Tourism Association has announced.
Jay Ehrhart, executive director of CITA, said from the very first ‘Chili Cook Off’ event in 1986, Taste of Cayman has continued to grow and is now firmly a Cayman institution.
“We know the disappointment from both residents and visitors when we were forced to cancel the last planned event in 2020 but are delighted to announce we are bringing it back in 2023,” he said.
“We are looking forward to working with our restaurant partners again,” he added. “Attendees can look forward to old favourites and some new surprises planned for next year.”
Troy Leacock, newly elected president of CITA, said Taste of Cayman was a major fundraiser for the association.
“It’s important that the community comes out to have fun and support the event, which will allow CITA to continue to support a still recovering sector,” he said.
The venue will again be Festival Green at Camana Bay, 10 years after Taste was first held at this location.
