A female cyclist remained in hospital Friday after being struck by a car on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway near the Kimpton hotel on Wednesday morning.
Police said officers responded to a 9-1-1 call about the collision near Tanager Way shortly after 6:10am.
The cyclist had been travelling northbound when she was hit by the mirror of a passing vehicle travelling in the same direction, and fell from her bike.
The vehicle did not stop, police said.
The driver of another vehicle stopped to offer assistance shortly afterwards.
Emergency services attended the location, and the woman was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She remained in the hospital Friday in stable condition.
