Two masked robbers, one armed with an axe, held up a restaurant in George Town on Friday night.
Police said the robbery occurred around 10pm, when the two men entered the restaurant and tried to gain entry to the cash registers.
When they were unable to access the registers, they robbed two people on the premises of cash and personal items.
They fled on foot in the direction of Seafarers Way, where a Pirates Fest street party was under way.
No one was injured during the hold-up, police said.
Both men were dressed in black with their faces fully covered, the RCIPS said in a statement.
This is the latest in an ongoing spate of armed robberies, many involving firearms, in George Town.
