Police are today reminding the public that it is a crime to assist any person attempting to evade arrest, or to obstruct officers in their efforts to make an arrest after a teenage robbery suspect was arrested on Friday.

The suspect and a 21-year-old-man of George Town were arrested on 30 Dec. by officers with the Firearms Response Unit.

The George Town man was held on suspicion of “accessory after the fact of robbery” and for “assisting the juvenile male in evading arrest”, an RCIPS statement following the incident stated.

Police warned the public they could be arrested and prosecuted for helping someone dodge arrest or for preventing police from apprehending a suspect.

Police, the statement said, were carrying out patrols on 30 Dec. when they observed the wanted teenager at a residence in Prospect. He was being sought in connection with robbery incidents that took place on 8 Dec. in Prospect and George Town.
