The Cayman Compass has been alerted to a fake email circulating in the community, which is purporting to be a news update bearing a logo similar to that of the media organisation and advising of COVID flight restrictions.
The email is not from the Compass nor is there any such story.
The email, which first surfaced Tuesday, appears to be sent through the candw.ky domain, and carries a subject line of ‘Breaking News: Cayman Islands Temporary Flight Restriction.’
The Compass is asking anyone who receives this fake email to not click on the link contained in the email, and to report the phishing email to the authorities.
