The Lions Club of Grand Cayman’s 50th anniversary golf tournament, held on Friday, 10 Feb., at the North Sound Golf Club, raised more than $11,000 for the organisation’s community projects.

The Lions fundraiser took the form of a four-person Texas scramble competition with 20 teams comprising 77 golfers.

Club president Michael Havlin thanked all the participants, sponsors and volunteers who helped make the day a success.

“I would like to extend my gratitude on behalf of the club to North Sound Golf Club, all of the sponsors, those who donated raffle prizes, the members who helped on the day, and everyone who participated in the event,” he told the Cayman Compass.

“We have had fantastic feedback from participants. It is all so worthwhile when everyone has had a great day of golf and helped raise such a magnificent amount.”
