Police on Friday night, 17 March, arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of carrying out an armed robbery at a business on Eastern Avenue earlier that day.
According to an RCIPS statement, at about 8pm Friday, officers had reason to stop and search a vehicle in George Town, which was suspected to have been involved in the early-morning robbery.
The lone occupant of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He was granted police bail pending further investigation.
The robbery occurred shortly after 1am Friday. It was reported that two men, one of whom was carrying a gun, entered the premises and demanded cash. The men then fled the location with a quantity of cash.
No shots were fired and no one was injured during the hold-up.
The culprits were both described as being of dark complexion and medium build. Both were wearing green shirts, dark glasses, and had their faces covered.
